State Treasurer considers running for Congress

Kansas State Treasurer Ron Estes said he is exploring a run for Kansas's 4th congressional district seat in the U.S. House.

The Kansas Supreme Court says the state violated the rights of a man jailed for more than four years pending trial on the claim he was a sexually violent predator subject involuntary civil commitment.

Students at Wichita Heights mourned the loss of a friend Friday. Friends confirmed Maxwell Edwards, 16, died Thursday. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office is calling it "a suspicious death."
