Wichita woman says racist letter complains about her black grandchildren

A racist letter shakes up one Wichita family. Nancy Wirths of Wichita said she received a handwritten letter in the mail Monday from someone complaining about black children in the neighborhood.


A property owner in Kingman County said he has unearthed what appears to be a mammoth tusk. It's not the only artifact that has been found in Kingman County. "I wouldn't say they're common, but they have been discovered over here in the area," said Alan Albers, a member of The Kansas Archaeological Association.


The Valley Center police chief is on administrative leave this week as the city investigates his department.


Alan LaPolice of Clyde announced Tuesday that he has officially been placed on the Nov. 8 ballot for the 1st District race.
