Two Dead, Two Hurt Following Ford County Crash

By Megahn Snyder (FORD COUNTY, Kan)

Two people are dead and two, including an infant, are recovering following a crash late Wednesday night in Ford County.

Investigators say Daniel Perez-Galeana was behind of the wheel of a Ford Cherokee headed north on K34 east of Ford. He didn't take a curve correctly, went into the west ditch, hit an embankment and went airborne over U400. The SUV landed in the field north of the road, rolled over and came to rest on its top.

Two passengers, 18-year-old Amy Arteaga and 22-year-old Rita Gisela Perez, both from Garden City, died later at a Dodge City hospital. One-year-old Dayani Perez was taken by Life Watch to a Wichita hospital. She was in a car seat and is now in fair condition. Perez-Galeana, 18 from Garden City, was treated at a Dodge City hospital.
