Syracuse Man Dies in Accident

by Robert Marin (HAMILTON CO., Kan.)

A Syracuse man dies after an accident Monday afternoon in Hamilton County. The accident happened just after 2:45 p.m. along K-27 about 12 miles north of U.S. 50.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pick-up driven by 42-year-old Richard Farnsworth of Syracuse was making a left turn onto County Road B. His pick-up was struck by a semi and both vehicles ended up in the ditch along the side of the road.

Farnsworth was taken to Hamilton County Hospital where he died. He was wearing a seat belt. Neither person in the semi was hurt.
