S. Wichita to Get New Elementary School

Wichita school board members unanimously voted to approve building the new elementary school in South Wichita during Monday night's meeting.

South Wichita will soon get a new school.  USD 259 announced Thursday the new school will go where Lewis Open Magnet is right now.
 
The neighborhood school will have Kindergarten through fifth grade.  Students will share common spaces, such as the cafeteria, library and multipurpose room, with the magnet school.
 
Money
from the 370-million dollar bond issue will pay for the new school.
 
School board members will hear the details behind this plan during their meeting Monday.
