The Sedgwick County Health Department says it will recognize world AIDS Day on Tuesday.
The department will offer free, confidential tests for HIV/AIDS at 2716 W. Central from 8am to 5pm.
The World Health Organization says there are more than 33-million people worldwide living with HIV, and more than a million in the U-S.
The numbers for Kansas are more than four-thousand, with approximately 700 people in Sedgwick County with HIV/AIDS.
Sedgwick County Health Department Director Claudia Blackburn says it's estimated that 50 to 70 percent of new HIV infections are transmitted by individuals who didn't know they were infected.
