Of course, Jessica Hughbanks friends and relatives wanted her to succeed on the show, but they knew she was likely getting evicted on Thursday night's episode.
"I knew it wasn't looking so good for her, but still you hope that something will change," says Erin Reedy. She and Hughbanks dance for the Wichita Thunder's Lampton Lightning dance team.
The dance team skipped the first hour of practice Thursday to watch Big Brother from the lobby of Fitness 2000, the gym where the girls practice.
"If it's my time to go, it's my time to go. If it's my time to stay, I'm happy with that," Hughbanks said during her last moments on the show.
She was evicted Thursday night by a vote of 2 to 1. House mates, Dick and Danielle were primarily to blame for conspiring her eviction. Dance team director, Patty Spiegel says Hughbanks choosing not to evict either of the two while she had the opportunity was one of her biggest mistakes.
"She made a mistake she couldn't recover from," says Spiegel.
Hughbanks, a Haysville, Kansas native, did well on the show. She was the 8th house guest to be evicted, out of 14 contestants. She lasted two months on the show and won two Head of Household competitions.
While Hughbanks didn't have a chance to win the $500,000 grand prize, she didn't leave empty handed. She sparked up a romance with a fellow house mate on the show.
He was also evicted Thursday, in a double eviction ceremony.
Hughbanks friends think Eric may have been a distraction to Hughbanks.
"She was playing the game so hard and so well. I think it kind of slowed her down and she needed to stay focused on the game," says dance team member, Stacia Barrera.
Hughbanks time with Big Brother isn't over yet. She'll now wait in a sequester house with other evicted house guests to vote on the final two players on Big Brother.
She'll make a final appearance on the last show.
Some of the dance team members wore the same shirt Hughbanks had on in her last episode. It's a pink shirt that has the word, "Booyah!" written on it.
Dance team members say that's a word Hughbanks uses on the show that's become popular around town.
The team is selling the shirts to benefit a Wichita woman suffering from cystic fibrosis. The shirts can be found online.
