A corrections officer with El Dorado Correctional Facility has been arrested on accusations she was trafficking contraband into the prison.
Authorities say, 27-year-old Nikkia Shanae Abrams was arrested at the prison for attempting to bring contraband into the prison. Officials turned up marijuana, tobacco and vodka during a routine search of her possessions. All three items are forbidden in the prison.
Abrams faces three counts of trafficking and contraband at a correctional institution. Each crime is a Level 5 Felony that can carry a sentence of up to 136 months in prison.
She is still in jail on $30,000 bond and is expected back in court on November 19th.
Abrams has been with the correctional facility since late August.
