Wichita police cite three smoke shops for selling cigarettes to minors. The department checked eleven shops during a sting operation Thursday.
Police recruited underage residents to take part in the sting operation along with community police and SCAT officers and a special agent from Alcohol and Beverage Control.
NTA's were issued to B & B Liquor and Tobacco at 13th and Minnesota for selling tobacco products to underage persons.
Central Smoke Shop at 2719 E. Central was issued NTAs for selling under age persons tobacco products. Both B & B and Central Smoke Shop were also cited and fined because they did not have a license to sell tobacco products.
U.S. Gas and Grocery was issued a citation for selling single cigarettes inside the store. All three businesses also were cited by ABC for selling tobacco products to underage persons.
