Let me get this straight...right now the Pac 10 conference has 11 teams, the Big 10 has 12, and the Big 12 has 10?!
Confusing times, especially for sports fans in this part of the country. Not sure I've seen a story come so quickly out of nowhere and have so many possible conclusions in just a few days.
But the latest appears to be welcome news for most fans of K-U and K-State.
After more than a week of pondering life in the Mountain West or worse, the Jayhawks and Wildcats will apparently stay right where they are...although in a slightly smaller Big 12.
Cue the sigh of relief.
And although most of this upheaval has been centered on the profit center of football...some observers are pointing out that the Big 12 is losing two of its weaker basketball programs, in Nebraska and Colorado.
Some say it's a less-is-more situation that will make the already-strong conference even tougher in basketball.
It's going to be an interesting couple of years....stay tuned.
