Living in Kansas you know how quickly the skies can change.  That's why storm chasers have gotten so popular here.  And if you head to the Kansas Cosmosphere today, you can experience the storms almost like the chasers do.

“Weather is the one thing that affects us all – regardless of your age or where you live,” said Chris Orwoll, President and CEO of the Cosmosphere. “From toddlers to adults, people are fascinated by Mother Nature’s awesome weather events. Through his IMAX film, ‘Tornado Alley,’ the Discovery Channel’s ‘Storm Chasers’ series, and the VORTEX 2 tornado research mission, Sean and his team have brought the heart-pounding adventures of storm chasing and meteorological science right into our living rooms.

Today you can not only watch the IMAX film Tornado Alley, but you can also meet Sean Casey.  Casey drives into the heart of storms in a 16,000 pound armored car known as the Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2 or (TIV2) for the Discovery Channel.

The Cosmosphere is also using this as an opportunity to provide weather related demonstrations to the public.  Our very own Ross Janssen and Millie the weather dog will be there to answer your questions.  They'll  be there from 10 until 6 p.m.
