Kansas native Clint Bowyer is still in search of his first win in 2014. And although that is really the name of the game this year in NASCAR, the 15 car is continuing to show signs of life with an 11th place finish in Pocono.

This week NASCAR will race at the Michigan International Speedway. This is not the best track for Bowyer, but he does have one top five and eight top ten in 16 career starts.

“Michigan might be the farthest from a driver’s race track of any of them,” said Bowyer. “It just has such a tremendous amount of speed and aero dependency and if your car is good then you’re going to be good. We were good in a tire test and I’m looking forward to getting back there and see how things go in the race weekend.”

This weekend will be special for Bowyer, win or lose, since it will mark the first Father’s Day since he found out he is going to be a father.

“It's kind of weird to think about it to tell you the truth,” said Bowyer. “It's exciting but I still kind of look at Father's Day as all about my dad. It's always been about Pops. He's been such an important part of my life and has helped me so much. I still think it's going to be about him even when I'm a dad. It's just the way it's always been.  I'm sure that will change but that's just the way it seems now.”
