Kansas turns purple as K-State gains in polls

Just a year ago the Big 12 Conference looked like it was headed for extinction, and Kansas State was one of the schools no other major conference seemed to want.  But the conference survived and K-State football is on a roll, ranked second in the BCS and third in the latest AP Poll.
