Jerry Stokely takes a break from the production line at siemens manufacturing plant to break down his new job.

"it's very impressive is exactly what visitors call Siemen's new $50 million plant in Hutchinson," says Jerry Stokely.

Friday, the plant celebrated the completion its first 90-ton nacelle.

The plant will produce "nacelles" for wind turbines, its the center part of a turbine that converts wind to electricity.

A piece of equipment siemens has been shipping in from Denmark until now.

Thisis the first nacelle assembly facility in the US.

Last month nearly 150 new employees started training on equipment.

"Its a much needed boost to our economy," says Stokely.

"Its almost opposite for what most of us have been used to where we work with the economy and struggle through," says Silver.

Jim Silver, siemens business manager, says Hutchinson is already feeling the economic impact.

An international training team was brought in to teach staff and has stayed in Hutch for weeks.

"I think the city is really pumped about having this kind of business and this boost," says Silver.

And with the anticipation of a few hundred more new hires, things promise to continue to improve.
