The Orpheum and SMG Wichita have announced the addition of two shows to the theatre’s 2014 fall lineup.

The acts, to be held at the Orpheum Theatre at 200 N. Broadway, feature popular throwback group, The Hit Men: Former Stars of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, and an exciting new dance experience, Circus Electronica.

The Hit Men: Former Stars of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons at 8 p.m. on Oct. 10

The Hit Men are the former stars of the hit-making factory known as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. These guys toured the world with Frankie, recorded numerous hit albums with him, and sang the lead vocals on songs like “Oh What a Night” – the biggest Seasons hit of all time. When they met in 1973, they were two boys from New Jersey barely out of their teens, and the Four Seasons hadn’t had a charted hit record in years. Along with Valli and songwriter/ producer Bob Gaudio, Gerry Polci and Lee Shapiro  successfully transitioned the group’s sound from ‘60s doo-wop to ‘70s pop with mega-hit songs like “Who Loves You” and “Oh What a Night”.

Their show is an amazing look back through rock and roll history, including fascinating back stories of what it was like being on the road and in the recording studios with Frankie, Tommy, Carly, Cat, Jim and Elton. And, of course, there are all those amazing hits…with The Hit Men performing great songs from the Four Seasons songbook  (from “Rag Doll”, “Dawn”, and “Walk Like a Man”, to “Can’t Take My Eyes Of You”, “Marianne” and “Sherry”),  plus other mega hits that members of The Hit Men helped make famous back in the day such as Cat Stevens’ “Peace Train”,  Jim Croce’s “Leroy Brown”, Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” and Tommy James’ “Mony Mony”.

Circus Electronica: Singularity at 8 p.m. on October 11

Circus Electronica: Singularity represents a new frontier in Electronic Dance Music, blending the worlds of traditional European-style circus with contemporary EDM. Embarking on its national tour debut Circus Electronica will be performed in seven markets this October. An all-ages show, Singularity seeks to manifest in live performance the underlying concepts and practices inherent to EDM; seamlessly blending musical styles and samples from multiple artists into a cohesive experience that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Circus Electronica: Singularity takes audiences on a journey that explores the relationship between Humans and the computers on which they are dependent. The focus is on Oni, a girl who wakes to consciousness and realizes she has been transported to a world inside the Machine. There she comes face to face with the Arbiter, who escorts her through the Inner Circuitry and forces her to confront the question: What makes us Human?

By combining aerial spectacle, ground based acrobatics and a live DJ, Circus Electronica has created a new artistic space that captures the zeitgeist of our time. As technology and the human experience continue to merge, important questions are raised: What qualities make us Human? At what point, augmented by our own inventions, does a Human become something… more?
