Thanksgiving race

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, which means plenty of big meals are coming our way. If you’re looking for a way to burn off those extra Thanksgiving feast calories, there are two holiday runs to sign-up for.

Participate in one of Wichita’s oldest and most historic running events on Sunday, November 24. The 38th Annual Wichita Turkey Trot will include a two-mile and ten-mile option, which will take runners through a scenic route on paths along Exploration Place, Keeper of the Plains, the Arkansas River, Century II and Waterwalk.

The first 2,000 adults to register for the race will receive a Nike technical long-sleeved shirt. Participants will also receive refreshments, entertainment, awards, and other door prizes. Don’t forget to bring an 18 oz. jar of peanut butter to give to the Kansas Foodbank (since this is also a holiday food drive).

On Thanksgiving morning, another run, Say Grace Thanksgiving Day 5K Race, will take place on Thursday, November 28 at 9:30 AM in downtown Wichita. This is GraceMed Health Clinic’s 3rd annual run event, which raises funds to support the ministry of GraceMed.

If you’re up for a challenge, you can register to do the ‘Double Gobble,’ which will enter you to race in both the Wichita Turkey Trot and Say Grace Thanksgiving 5K. The first 400 people to register in the Double Gobble will receive a custom race bib and metal.
