United Way takes appointments for Laid-Off Workers Center

The United Way is taking appointments for the September session of the Laid-Off Workers Center.

People interested in making an appointment can call 211 between eight and five through August 27.

The Laid-Off Workers Center was set up to help laid-off workers in Sedgwick, Butler and Sumner counties. It provides help including emergency financial assistance, budget and financial counseling, help applying for government programs, job training information and information on continuing education.

The center is at the West River Plaza office complex at 2622 W. Central.
