Twelve students from the Wichita School District are named semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship 2010.
The school district says eight of the students attend East High School and the other four are from Northwest High.
The twelve students became semi-finalist by taking the PSAT in their junior year and scoring in the top one-half of one percent.
National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in the spring.
The 2010 National Merit Semi-Finalists from East High School are: Joshua Countryman, Hillary Harder, Stephen Lowe, Drea Shauver, Emma Snowden, Haley Stritzel, Ellery Wadman-Goetsch and Lauren Walker.
The semi-finalists from Northwest High School are Daniel Depew, Ashley Farris, Elise Fast and Michael McCormick.
