Wichita police want to make sure you're buckling up, no matter what time it is. Several officers took part in an enforcement campaign looking for drivers and passengers who weren't buckled up.

Police at Central & Ridge Road handed out 24 citations for seat belt violations between 6 and 10 pm Tuesday.

Officers will also be on the lookout for other violations.

Studies have indicated that seat belt use goes down when it's dark outside because drivers assume officers can't see whether or not passengers are buckled up.
