Wichita's Hadley Middle School received national praise this week. It's the only middle school in Kansas to earn certification for its Project Lead the Way-Gateway to Technology program.
The award will give Hadley the opportunity to test its pre-engineering and technology curriculum.
"In 7th we have a design and modeling which is using 3D software and they also do a bit of science and technology, explore nanotechnology," said Sherri Molde, PLTW teacher. "Then in 8th grade, we get into electricity and learning about automation and robotics."
The program is also available to select 6th graders. The high school PLTW curriculum is already taught in six Wichita high schools.
