Hays Museum Hosts Crime Lab

HAYS, Kan. (AP) - Move over Nancy Drew and sleuth brothers Frank and Joe Hardy.

Visitors to the Sternberg Museum of Natural History are getting a chance to try out their own skills at solving crimes.

The Hays Daily News reports that a new exhibit called "Crime Lab Detectives" opened in late May.

It features various kiosks where visitors can gather clues and watch videos of suspects and witnesses.

They also can sift through evidence, including DNA, footprints and soil samples.

Visitors get a notebook at the beginning of the exhibit to track their discoveries.

Exhibits director Greg Walters says visitors work through the notebook and come up with who they think committed the crime and why.

The Arkansas Museum of Discovery created the exhibit, which runs through Sept. 5.
