Eyewitness News at 6 and 10
Roger Cornish is a third generation Kansas broadcaster, who has worked for Eyewitness News since 1976.
He grew up in Hutchinson, and one of his first jobs after high school was on the camera crew at what was then called KTVH.
Roger worked as morning, noon & weekend anchor, as well as Hutchinson correspondent. He began in his current position anchoring the 6 & 10 pm weekday newscasts in 1980.
Roger was inducted into the Emmy Silver Circle in 2006, honoring more than 25 years of service to the broadcast industry. That year he was also named to the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Roger has helped KWCH win KAB Station of the Year awards, Newscast of the Year, and 2 National Edward R. Murrow awards.
Roger has been married to his high school sweetheart Wanetta since 1972. They have two children, Chad and Nicole. Chad and his wife Tammy made Roger a grandfather with the August 2009 birth of Slayden Roger Cornish. He welcomed grandbaby number two in July 2012, Troy Joseph Cornish.
Off the air, Roger enjoys reading, playing golf, and following auto racing.
