Rachel’s favorite thing about being a journalist is finding creative ways to tell the stories of everyday people. From writing to shooting, she enjoys every aspect of the process.

Rachel joined the KWCH team as a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist in October of 2015. She’s no stranger to the Great Plains, having worked at KDLT in Sioux Falls, SD as a Reporter and Weekend Anchor for more than two years.

Rachel grew up in Minneapolis, MN and attended DePaul University in Chicago, IL where she earned a degree in Journalism. During her time at DePaul, Rachel interned at Chicago’s NBC affiliate WMAQ in the investigative unit.

After college, Rachel traveled across the Midwest from the Windy City to the Mount Rushmore State. During her time in Sioux Falls, Rachel covered everything from natural disasters to political elections. As a true Minnesotan, she’s never had a problem with covering blizzards.

Less than a year after she was hired as a reporter, Rachel was promoted to weekend anchor. In that role, she was responsible for producing and anchoring the evening newscasts, as well as managing weekend reporters and the station website.

Rachel’s favorite thing about being a journalist is finding creative ways to tell the stories of everyday people. From writing to shooting, she enjoys every aspect of the process.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys baking, working out, exploring the outdoors, spending time with her 14-year-old cat, and cheering on her Minnesota Vikings.

Rachel is excited to be in Wichita and explore a new city. The mild winters won’t be so bad, either.
