Officers radio for help after eating pot edibles, hallucinating on duty

TORONTO (KWCH) Two police officers who allegedly ate marijuana edibles, hallucinated and called for help have been suspended.

A spokesperson for Toronto Police Service says both officers are under investigation by the force's professional standards unit following the incident Sunday.

CBC News reports the officers whose names haven’t been released by the department, allegedly ate marijuana edibles near a police station and then reportedly started to hallucinate.

The officers were found in a police vehicle. Though sources told CP24 News reports that one officer ended up in a tree.

The Toronto Star says that the incident came hours after a police raid of a marijuana dispensary.

The officers allegedly radioed for help saying "It sounds like a potentially perilous situation."
