WICHITA, Kan. A car dealership is spreading the warmth by donating blankets and art supplies to cancer patients at Wesley Medical Center.
Subaru of Wichita partnered with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in support of the company-wide June initiative to spread hope, love, and warmth for those fighting cancer. The blankets will keep patients warm during chemotherapy, where it often feels cold. Subaru is also donating art supplies to children, to help bring joy during that time.
Local Wichita businesses and neighbors filled out cards with special messages for the patients benefiting from the donations. About 38,000 blankets and messages of hope will be donated and delivered to community members fighting cancer.
Subaru of Wichita Marketing Director Noah Taylor says, "It's those moments when you're feeling down and feeling alone in this fight, (then) this small gesture comes in and just reminds them that you're not alone."
