Man shot at mobile home park on east MacArthur dies from injuries

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) UPDATE (10:30 a.m. Monday): Wichita police say a man shot at the Lamplight Mobile Home Park early Sunday died from his injuries.

They say an unknown man forced entry into the victim's mobile home on east MacArthur around 2:30 a.m. The man confronted the victim, shot him and then left the home.

Police have identified the victim as 66-year-old Arthur Goebel. They say his wife is the person is called 911.

Police will not comment on a motive for the shooting and say they are still trying to piece together the details.

Goebel's death marks Wichita's 21st homicide of the year.

UPDATE (7:00 a.m. Sunday): Wichita police were called out to Lamplighter mobile home park near east MacArthur for a shooting around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators say a man was shot multiple times and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police do not know what led up to the shooting but say they are interviewing witnesses.

This is the third shooting in Wichita in the past 24 hours. The shooting victim's age or identity has not been released and no one has been arrested at this time.

The call came out around 2:30 a.m.
