11-year-old with down syndrome makes cheerleading team

STONEWALL, La. (KWCH) A video has gone video of Lacey Parker, an 11-year-old girl with down syndrome bursting with joy and jumps when she discovers she made her middle school cheerleading team.

When Lacey's mom, Renee Parker, posted a video of her daughter making the team online. The video quickly became a viral sensation.

"I just never imagined that, you know, her reaching her dream would impact so many people," says Parker.

Lacy's dream has also been to become a cheerleader.

Making the team is huge for her, especially because her older sisters are apart of their school's cheerleading teams.
