2 dead, 4 injured in Montgomery County crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) Two people are dead and four others are injured after a crash in Montgomery County.

Authorities say the accident happened on Saturday morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs say 29-year-old Terry Lee Reeder II was driving a 1998 Dodge ram-headed westbound on US 166 near Caney when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a 2006 Lucerne Buick head-on.

The Buick spun and came to rest on all four wheels facing northwest, and the Dodge ram came to rest partially in the westbound lane facing north.

Reeder along with 25-year-old Kaity Piece who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.Three children in the car were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, 85-year-old Alvin D. Gaston was also transported to the hospital.
