ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. Two people are dead after a Sunday morning plane crash in Atchison County.

It happened about 10:30 a.m. near Cummings. We've learned the two people killed in the crash were the plane's only two occupants. One of the dead was reportedly a stunt pilot who had performed at the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison Saturday night. The other was a passenger in the plane.

Kansas City's KCTV 5 reports from the Atchison County Sheriff's Office that the plane was piloted by 64-year-old Vlado Lenoch of Burr Ridge, Ill. The passenger was identified as 34-year-old Bethany Root, of Atchison.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says Root was the manager of Atchison's Amelia Earhart Airport.

Officials are working to determine what caused the crash.
