Police arrest woman after car crash in downtown Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. Wichita police have made an arrest in the crash that left one man in critical condition and two others injured in a crash near downtown Wichita on Wednesday morning.

Police received the call about a crash around 10:30 a.m. at Lincoln and Market.

Officer Charley Davidson says when two vehicles were waiting for a traffic light a 21-year-old woman drove into the back of a car which then hit a van.

After a brief investigation, police determined that the woman intentionally drove her vehicle into the back of the other one.

The woman was arrested and booked into jail for three counts of aggravated battery and outstanding warrants.

One man is in critical condition and two others are injured in a crash near downtown Wichita on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at Lincoln and Market. Police say a man in his 30's was taken to the hospital with severe injuries after a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Lincoln and Market.

Officers say the man critically injured was in the backseat of a grey car when it was hit.

Wichita police say they don't know the cause of the crash right now. All three vehicles were driving in the same direction when one rear-ended the other two.

Two other people were also injured in that crash and treated for minor injuries.

Police also say another person was taken to the hospital for a medical condition unrelated to the crash.

Officers currently have westbound lanes closed at Market as they continue to work the accident. You'll want to avoid the area.
