KANSAS CITY, Mo. The 2017 Chiefs season has finally arrived.
Friday night, the Kansas City Chiefs took on the 49ers, a team that has a couple of Kansas connections.
Blake Bell is a third-year tight end for San Francisco and he's a former Bishop Carroll star.
Bell is catching passes now, but he used to toss them for Alan Schuckman and the Golden Eagles.
Bell is excited to return home this weekend and play in front of his family and friends.
"We went to a lot of Chiefs games. My uncle played 12 years there. We'd go to games all the time. I'd get to stand on the sidelines," said Bell. "I'm looking forward to playing there. A lot of friends and family will be there so I'm excited."
The 49ers also have a coach with a Kansas connection.
Katie Sowers is a coaching intern for the Niners, and she's a Hesston native.
