GREAT BEND, Kan. (KWCH) Two buildings had to be evacuated Friday morning in Great Bend due to a bomb threat.

Phil Hathcock, Barton County's Director Operations at Barton, said they received a call around 9 a.m. that a bomb was in the Barton County Courthouse and the Court Services building located at 1806 12th Street.

He said both buildings were evacuated, and Barton County Sheriff's deputies swept each building for suspicious packages but nothing was found.

The search lasted for about an hour and 15 minutes.

Employees were able to return to work in both buildings.
