CHS closes Hutchinson plant, 77 jobs lost

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) CHS announced on Friday that it has closed its soy processing facility in Hutchinson and eliminated 77 jobs.

The company says it also closed facilities in Creston, Iowa, and Eagan, Minn.

The company says the decision was made to close the facilities in order to restore financial flexibility and positioning the company, its owners and other stakeholders for long-term success.

"CHS values the committed employees who worked at the Hutchinson plant. We recognize that all employees performed their jobs to do the best of their abilities and that they took pride in their facility and coworkers.
