Casting Call for Better U Makeover Challenge

WICHITA, Kan. This Saturday the American Heart Association has a casting call, looking for 15 women who want to be a part of the Go Red For Women Better U Makeover Challenge.

If this year is anything like year's past, expect a long line outside the Dillard's at Town East Square on Saturday.

Any woman over 18 years old, who wants to change their life, is invited to the casting call.

The American Heart Association will pick 15 women for the 12 week Better U Makeover Challenge.

Cindy Miles went through it last year. She says her training helped her figure out how to become healthier, how to lose weight, eat right and exercise properly.

But what she didn't realize going into it, was the importance of doing this journey with other women who have the same goal.

"Having that support, that group of women that can encourage you to continue doing what you're doing is really important, especially if you're trying to lose weight," said Cindy Miles.

The women will work with a cardiologist, get access to the YMCA, learn how to eat, without involving emotion.

Because of this program, Miles says, last year, she lost 50 pounds and is sticking with her weight loss journey.

"So that was the most rewarding thing, being able to put on smaller clothes and having people say, 'oh wow, you look so good. You've lost so much weight.'"
