Elementary school helps calves affected by Anderson Creek Wildfire

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) Hutchinson elementary students are helping ranchers who were affected by the Anderson Creek Wildfire.

Teachers at Morgan Elementary School created the 'Coins for Calves' fundraiser, asking students and parents to donate loose change. The money was used to buy milk replacement for calves whose mothers were hurt or killed in the fire.

After just one week two classes raised enough money to buy 13 bags of milk replacement. Then, the entire school got involved. In total, the school raised more than $1,400. Monday, the class that raised the most money got to pie their PE teacher.
