A man is safe after his home caught fire in Wichita Monday morning. It happened near Lewis and Poplar at around 4:30 a.m.
Crews were called to a report of flames coming from the back of the home. The fire chief told us crews had a hard time getting to the fire because it was on the back side of the home and there were power lines in the way.
They were able to get the fire out.
The homeowner got out of the home safely, but one firefighter suffered a minor injury. That firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Neighbors told us flames were around 15 feet high as firefighters arrived.
There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
