Kansas City impacted by major flash flooding

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KWCH) Thousands of people are under a flash-flood emergency in the Kansas City area.

Thunderstorms are pounding both sides of the state line.

Meteorologist Mark Larson says a few places have already seen more than four inches of rain.

Overland Park Fire responded to more than 16 water-assist calls as drivers found themselves stalled in high waters.

We have video from the scene with crews helping people stuck on top of a flooded car.

All of this should move away from KC within the next hour or two.

No injuries have been reported.
