Michael Newmon posted a photo of the dead bear on Facebook Monday morning. It has since been shared more than 1,200 times.

Newmon said he found the cub about 1.5 miles west of Elkhart, Kan.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism says the two-year-old, 94-pound bear was actually found in Oklahoma on Hwy 56.

A wildlife biologist for the KDWPT for says the bear may have come from Colorado, New Mexico or Oklahoma and may have been looking for food or water due to the recent drought and fires.

The KDWPT says no bear has been seen in Morton County since 2011.
