JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) A farmer near Kansas City says they now hold the record for growing the world's heaviest peach.
The peach weighs in at just over the old record of a pound and a half.
After it was weighed by two scientists, the peach was chopped up and served to nine people.
The man who grew the peach says he started growing fruit as a hobby after he was involved in a car crash.
"My wife bought some trees, just peach trees to get me outside, and try and get me to do a little bit and thought maybe I could take care of them, so I did. She just planted them and it was therapeutic," said farmer Mark Angermeyer. "She probably didn't plan for it to be this big."
The peach's information will be submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records.
It will take around 12 weeks to review and determine whether if it breaks the world record.
