KU, Boston Celtics great Jo Jo White dies at 71

Kansas Jayhawk and Boston Celtics legend Joseph "Jo Jo" White had died after a battle with cancer, the Boston Herald reports.

The seven-time NBA All-Star and MVP of the 1976 NCA Finals was 71 years old. The Herald reports the Celtics retired White's No. 10 jersey.

At KU, White was a two-time second-team All American. He also won an Olympic gold medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics prior to starting his NBA career.

White played 10 years the Celtics (1969 -1979) before concluding his pro career with the Golden State Warriors and Kansas City Kings.
