Large wildfire in Woods County

BARBER COUNTY (KWCH) Multiple fire crews are on scene of a large wildfire in Oklahoma just south of Southwest Barber County.

Fire investigators tell us the fire is about 6 miles long.

Helicopters with water and an air attack platform have been called out to assist.

According to the national weather service, families in southern Kansas can see the smoke from the fire.

Barber County Emergency Manager Mike Loreg says they don't anticipate any evacuations here in Kansas.

Loreg told Eyewitness News that crews don't see the fire crossing the state line.
