Maize USD 266 and Maize police launch 'speak up' initiative

MAIZE, Kan. (kwch) USD 266 in Maize and the Maize Police Department partnered with the Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers in school program to increase safety in schools.

All Wichita high schools and most middle schools have a Crime Stoppers program. Other schools in Sedgwick County are also starting programs.

The initiative called "speak up" allows students and families the ability to provide anonymous tips through texts and online formats.

Speak Up allows anyone to share information that will be anonymously received.

The goal is to encourage people to speak up when they see something and provide them with a safe place to share their concerns.

To submit a tip you can email the address on your screen or text speak up along with the information to "crimes" or 27-46-37.
