WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita Police arrested a man late Friday night for two counts of aggravated battery after the man hit a pedestrian in a walkway.
Police believe speed was a factor in the accident.
A 19-year-old man was traveling north on Amidon in his purple Mazda Miata with his 19-year-old passenger. A 25-year-old man was crossing the street in the 700 block of N Amidon when the 19-year-old struck him with his car.
The 25-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The female passenger in the Mazda was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and booked into jail on two counts of aggravated battery.
Wichita Police Department Accident Follow Up unit and Critical Accident Team responded to investigate the accident.
