Man steals $1.6 million worth of gold flakes from truck

Police in New York City are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who stole $1.6 million worth of gold from a truck.

The heist happened two months ago. The man, described as Hispanic, 5'6" tall, 150 lbs between 50 and 60 years old, walked up to an armored truck that had been left open and stealing a pail of gold flakes.

Police say that five-gallon bucket of gold flakes weighed more than 85 pounds.

They released surveillance video of the theft in hopes someone would recognize him.
