Second suspect arrested in death of Wichita man

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) UPDATE: Tuesday a.m. - Wichita Police have arrested a second person in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend. Jail records show Dakahri Saunders was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on one count of First Degree Murder.

He's the second suspect arrested in connection with the death of 19-year-old Timothy Golden.

(UPDATE 11:25 a.m. Monday) Wichita police have identified the man shot and killed in a west Wichita apartment over the weekend.

They say around 1:44 p.m. on Saturday three men fired several shots into an apartment located in the 500 block of S. Laclede. That's near Kellogg and McLean.

Timothy J. Golden, 19, was killed in the shooting. He was the only person in the apartment.

One man, 18-year-old Ritchie Randle, was arrested and booked into jail for first-degree murder. Police are working to identify the two other men.

Golden's death marks Wichita's 20th homicide of the year.

Police say the shooting was not gang-related. They have not released a motive for the incident.


(UPDATE 9:30 a.m. Sunday) Sedgwick County booking sheets Sunday morning say Ritchie Randle was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.

Wichita Police confirm Randle was arrested in connection with a homicide Saturday at Taft and Laclede in Wichita.


(UPDATE): Wichita Police say a man in his late teens or early 20's died after someone shot him. Officers say he was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say they responded to the home at 1:45 p.m. Saturday. They do not have any suspect information right now and say they're looking for surveillance video that may cover the area.


One person is dead after a shooting at Taft and Laclede in Wichita--that is near Kellogg and McLean just west of the Arkansas River.

Sedgwick County Dispatchers say they don't have any suspect information yet.
