Police seize 14 illegal gaming machines in McPherson

McPherson, Kan. The McPherson Police Department says it seized gaming machine's from several local businesses this week.

McPherson police say Monday, a detective with its department received information from a detective with the Hutchinson Police Department regarding illegal gaming machines at Yogi's Vape Store on Main Street in McPherson.

The McPherson police detective confirmed two illegal Bankshot gaming machines were in the shop. The detective and McPherson police officers executed a search warrant at the store and seized the machines.

"The machines were owned by a company out of Wichita, Kansas, and have been a part of an ongoing investigation by the Kansas Gaming Commission, Wichita Police Department and Hutchinson Police Department," the McPherson Police Department says.

McPherson police say later on Monday and Tuesday, its detective and officers from the department discovered there were illegal Phone Card Sweepstakes gaming machines at several locations in town including City Limits Bar, Hanks Place, VFW, American Legion and the office of the machines' owner.

McPherson police say officers executed search warrants and seized 12 additional gaming machines.

Police say the investigation is ongoing with the Kansas Gaming Commission.
