Police warn of possibly tainted candy

WAMEGO, Kan. (KWCH) The Wamego Police Department issued a public safety alert after receiving multiple reports of possibly tainted candy.

Police say the candy is in the shape of a small baby bottle and is labeled "Bibi Frutix." According to the label, it was made in Mexico.

"While this is an isolated report it is unknown where the candy has been distributed as the candy was not purchased at a local store," says Wamego police.

Officers say the powdery substance contained within the baby bottle has not been analyzed. However, several people who sampled contents reported the powder had a chemical taste and two people had adverse reactions.

Wamego police ask anyone with this labeled candy to take appropriate actions for their safety and contact local law enforcement with questions.
