Scam targets people signed up for Do Not Call registry

The Kansas Attorney General warns of a scam targeting people who signed up for the Do-Not-Call list.

The attorney general reminds people who have signed up for the list that their registration does not expire. Recently, scammers claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), telling people their registration for the Do-Not-Call list was expiring.

The email directs people to a fake website, asking them to give personal information to renew their registration. As a result, people are now getting more spam phone calls.
