Phillips County Sheriff's Office

PHILLIPS COUNTY, Kan. The Phillips County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they say tried to pull a scam on area businesses.

The sheriff's office says the man goes into businesses and complains about an employee he claims was rude in an encounter with him or his family member. From this, the sheriff's office says he'll try to return merchandise without a reciept.

The sheriff's office says the man was in Phillipsburg last week and approached two businesses.

The sheriff's office describes the man as being in his 40's, standing about 6'3. He's described as having gray, short hair and some teeth missing.

"If you see him, contact us immediately," the Phillips County Sheriff's Office says. "If he leaves before you can call, try to get a vehicle description and direction of travel."
