Sedgwick Co. deputy rescues family after crash into creek

A Sedgwick County Sheriff's Deputy rescues two women and two children, after the car they were in crashed into a creek.

Sergeant Clayton Barth says he was driving from Wichita State to Southeast High School when he noticed a car in a creek at Oliver and Lincoln.

He raced to the car to make sure everyone was okay.

He emptied his pockets and got in the water to get to the family.

"The car was about halfway under water-ish, about up to the door," Sgt. Barth said. "I see two little youngsters, grabbed one of them, so I have two kids in my hand and gave them to the guys who were mowing the grass. and grabbed the woman and took her back."

Everyone is okay.
