ANDERSON COUNTY (KWCH) A man was killed in a deadly crash in Anderson County on Friday evening.
According to The Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs, the accident happened in Anderson County about 2.2 Miles south of Welda on U-169.
KHP says a semi was headed northbound when it left the roadway to the east, traveling through the grass. Troopers say the semi struck a concrete culvert then proceeded to hit the milepost 92 sign.
The driver of the semi then overcorrected and re-entered the highway hitting 19-year-old Andrew Metcalf from Independence who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet.
The impact sent Metcalf's vehicle into the west ditch.
Emergency crews say Metcalf was pronounced dead at the scene. The people in the other vehicle were not hurt.
